Rachel Briggs OBE is a leading expert on security and has worked at the highest levels with the private sector and governments on corporate security, cyber security, and national security.

She consults with FTSE and Fortune 100 companies and produces thought leadership aimed at helping security professionals within multinational companies adapt to the changing realities of the global business operating environment.

Her report, The Business of Resilience, is regarded as the blueprint for effective global corporate security, and she is author of a number of seminal and award-winning reports, including, The Business Value of Corporate Security, Empowering Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Corporate Security, and Connected Corporate Security.

Rachel received the International Security Management Association (ISMA) Distinguished Achievement Award in 2016 and is a board member of the Risk and Security Management Forum (RSMF).

Her work has directly influenced government policy, she was Co-Chair of the European Commission’s working group on tackling online extremism and has served on a number of UK Foreign Office boards.

She is an experienced non-profit leader; she was Founding Executive Director of Hostage US and the first Director of Hostage International, which provide care and support services for hostages and their families. Rachel was awarded an OBE in 2014 for her work with hostages.

Rachel has written for national newspapers and magazines, including The Washington Post, the Financial Times and Foreign Policy, is a frequent commentator on broadcast media, and was featured as the Saturday Profile in The New York Times. She was profiled by FifTV as one of the top 50 women changing the United States.

Rachel is a Board member of the Global Center on Cooperative Security and The Risk and Security Management Forum, an Associate Fellow of Chatham House , and an Advisory Board member of Culturlabs.
